I am just going to post a little at a time so that I don't spend 8 hours putting our vacation on my blog.
This is our third year in a row that we have traveled back to the midwest (Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas) to visit our family and friends. The kids love to visit and look forward to it every time.
We rent a van for the 14+ day journey and it is well worth every penny. We don't have to worry if it breaks down or putting those 3,000 miles on it. It makes for a nice change for all of us.
We drive for about 10 hours then stop and spend the night in whatever hotel we decide to crash at (midnight) and has a good deal with free breakfast (mandatory with our crew). It is about 18 hours to Wichita - 1st stop.
This time we were able to plug in the kids MP3 players for music instead of running into dead air and constant static on the radio. I did learn that Jon's new favorite song is Jonas Brothers "Year 3000". Fun for all 7 of us (yes, Jack knows it too) to be "jammin'" out in the van - I'm sure it was a sight.
