We had a great visit in Wichita we stayed downtown at the Broadview hotel. Not walking distance to my dad's apartment but right next to the river and less than 5 minutes away.
We helped my dad by running several errands with him and taking him shopping for furniture. It is always more fun and way easier to shop for someone else and with someone elses money - we only spent 10 minutes and got a bed and kitchen table.
At out for breakfast and dinners. If you ever have an opportunity to have eggs benedict with smoked salmon I would highly recommend it.
My dad took us to visit the natural museum next to his apt. That was great. They had a scavenger hunt for the kids to work on and real mummies. 3 floors of history and culture.
It was a good visit and I know that my dad loved watching my kids being "kids" and spending time with them. I am glad I came to visit in June by myself because between the kids and Jon I barely got a few words in. Jon and my dad had a good deal in common and got along well.

Aren't you glad you have these last fond memories of your dad? The eggs benedict with salmon sound excellent. Very enticing.
