Too much of a good thing

I love York Peppermint Patties! I never had eaten one until maybe a little over a month ago. One each time I went to the grocery store. Then two, one to save for later (10min). Next thing I know I found the bag of minis and by a bag to keep in the freezer (YUM). Then 2 bags were in my house. Two bags eaten in less than 2 days! (Shared slightly - 1- with begging child or two). For my punishment I am sick. Not to my stomach, but now i have a cold. It is totally because of that day that I ate nothing but patties...all ... day... long! Maybe I could have gotten the cold to pass with rest and a better diet. But I just couldn't stay away.

So, I am almost over the complete obsession with York. I am being strong for my kids. Actually, I told the girls to not let me get one at the store last night. i went to grab one and then there was a scene. The girls were weak and caved. I told them they could have a candy bar that they wanted if they gave me the pattie. The man behind me had his curiosity peaked and we had an all too revealing conversation regarding my current problem. He didn't help---told me there are the best orange ones at Halloween ---not helping!

The best way to rid yourself of a bad habit is to replace it. ??? Exercise would be appropriate (of course Yorks are 70% less fat than regular candy bars). I'm thinking my healthy stand by love...

frozen blueberries (TJ's has the best tasting), vanilla non-fat yogurt and TJ's Maple Pecan granola...perfect anytime in the Spring/Summer. Remember portion control...eating 2 cups or more defeats the purpose (reminder to myself).

I am laughing so hard right now! You are so funny. They are good. I have this problem with Girl Scout Cookies- the Thin Mints. I can't leave any cookies uneaten. I wish I could have seen the scene at the store with the girls!! Hee Hee

I may have been known to go through phases like this. for me it is the Dibs ice cream. Soooo lovely and cold and creamy. Hey, we have to indulge ourselves every once in a while!

This is too funny. Luckily I do not like York patties. (I do have a million other things that are not good for me that I do love.)
