I love going to the library. I don't go to often but when I do I get that rush like someone let me have a free for all at the mall. Choices, choices and more choices and everything is free to borrow.
Also, anytime I find myself in a bookstore or wherever they may be selling books I browse and write down every title that seems interesting to me and save it for later to find at the library or possibly Amazon. We also find great books for the kids to read this way too.
That being said...my title. I finished a book by that title by Arthur C. Brooks. I thought it noteworthy and I try not to forget what I learned and enjoyed out of it. It was all about charity and who gives, who doesn't and why it matters. Guess who gives the most. Go on guess........
Okay, its religious conservatives especially those that are married with kids. Doesn't surprise me. I am surrounded by these types of people and they are the most charitable people anywhere. The working poor give the greatest percentage of their income even though the wealthiest part of the population give the greatest amounts.
Definitely worth a look at he goes into many aspects of charity including looking and comparing other countries to our own in regards to charity and taxes, etc.
Those that receive charity from an organization versus welfare from the government actually do better financially in the long run and end up being more charitable themselves.
