#13 - Grandparents

So, I am WAY behind and probably missing the point, a little, of the whole Blessing Project but I do think about them every week and sometimes it just takes awhile to get it here onto my blog.

Myself and others seem to have had Grandparents on the brain a while ago (about when this SHOULD have been posted). I am thankful and feel so blessed for all grandparents. No matter what they have such an impact on their grandchildren and their lives. I am thankful for the grandparents that my children have and their lives that they lead and for their kind words and love that they show my children.

I am thankful for my grandparents who have all passed away. I remember them with warm memories and thoughts of them are with me often.

My paternal grandfather, Altus Arnold, bounced his future wife on his knee when she was just a baby. She lied on her marriage application and they married when she was too young. They lived and started their family living in a railroad box car while he worked as a coal shoveler with the railroad. My father, the youngest of 3 boys, was the only one born inside a home.

And yes, i feel the pressure of many generations resting upon me to remember them and to do their temple work.

"The things you do for yourself are gone when you are gone, but the things that you do for others remain as your legacy." Bishop H. David Burton (thanks Rachel)
