Saturday evening Jon and I went out to look at some things at OfficeMax then remembered that Jon promised to pick up a treat for Emma. Time ticking we planned on taking a quick trip into our local MegaMart (name change---you know the one right down the street). To my astonishment and chagrin I see Breyer's ice cream on the frozen food end cap with a sign above saying "New Lower Prices". Great! I thought. Look at the price and it was $4.25....ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! They always had Breyers for $2.88. I know this because if the store had it on a good sale it would be $2.50 and the Mart store was just slightly higher. It is unfortunate that they try to scam the consumer into thinking that they prices are lower when more often the quality is also lower or the prices are in fact much higher. Another reason for me not to go.
Of course, I just couldn't purchase that at that rip of a price so I bought a different brand ... just as equally yummy. Shamrock Farms pumpkin pie and then popsicles for the kiddies.

I hate that. I noticed it too. since when was yogurt .89? now it's .66 or something like that. I noticed that Wally world (name changed) has done that too in the past. We'd get IBC rootbeer by the case, and then they had their "new lower price!" which was exactly the stinking same. Weird thing is, is that for school, nick had this project where you compare the prices of 10 items at three different stores. We picked Target, Wal-mart, and Fry's, and even with most of the stuff at Fry's being on sale, Target beat everyone hands down. I was actually surprised.
Have you been bloggin ALL day? Whew! Love the date night, we certainly don't do it enough.
I hate advertising schemes too. Just be honest with me, you would get more of my business!
Hey Stacey!!
I know all about the ice cream prices, we just had all three girls tonsils out on Friday and wowie wow wow, we have gone through so many GALLONS of ice cream!! Gotta get the good stuff too. I love it when they call it a new container thats a space saver size!! Less ice cream for the same or MORE money!!!
How was the pumpkin pie ice cream? It sounds delish!
Shamrock Farms Pumpkin Pie is the BEST! However, I consider it a seasonal item. Didn't feel right eating it in April.
